Match report So, since our official match reporter was out, I am taking a stab at it.

WCC won the toss and elected to bat on a beautiful day and on a beautiful Oxon Hill ground. Sameer had a new opening partner this game in Palash and they both gave the team a very good start with the score reading 50-0 in 8 overs. Sameer got out in the 9th over to a cut shot that went to hand. Sharath joined Palash and surely looked rusty as he had lots of play and misses. He hit 1-2 lovely shots and looked like the Sharath of old on those. Palash continued playing fluently with some awesome shots over midwicket and cut shots. Sharath got out trying to clear the boundary to the spinner's delivery and Tarun joined Palash. Palash got out soon for a very well made 45. Kalyan joined Tarun and they both took the score to 106-3 at the halfway stage. Kalyan was patient at the start and started getting in the groove with a beutiful straight six. Tarun was his usual self playing sensibly and punishing the bad deliveries. Kalyan got out to a good catch that was a sure shot four if missed. Viral came to the crease and hit his trademark huge six and looked like would take the game totally away from the vikings but got out next ball caught and bowled. Raj joined Tarun around the 25th over with 5 wickets gone and the team in a spot of bother. They both rotated the strike beautifully and built a nice partnership and also hit awesome fours. Tarun blasted the Vikings bowlers all over and got to his 50 around the 35th over. Raj continued playing his shots and an extra cover drive for four from him was the shot of the day. Tarun finally got out for a splendid 66 but that was a runout that he sacrificed his wicket in the last couple of overs to just run for everything. Sandeep and Anil put the icing on the cake with nice running and fours in the last over. Raj made a very well played 35 odd and we scored 254/7 in 40 overs.

Anil started the bowling and in his 2nd over Joseph took an awesome catch at mid-on to dismiss the opener. Anil added another to the tally soon by getting the 1 down player bowled. Joesph was his new ball partner from the other end and bowled beautifully and was unlucky to get a wicket. Both bowled very well although gave a few free runs in the form of extras. Sameer came in 1st change and stuck to line and length and got the bowl to outswing very nicely. The Vikings score read 24-2 at the 10 over mark. Sandeep started from the other end after the break and continued his bowled's by even Garnet(the umpire) calling his delivery unplayable. Soon, one of their hitters was dropped on Sameer's bowling, but not much damage was done as Tarun took a brilliant catch at slips to dismiss him off Sandeep's bowling. Sameer took another brilliant diving catch at midwicket and Vikings were 5 down. Our spinners Viraal and Raj came on to finish the Vikings off soon. Viraal took 3 and Raj 1 and 1 brilliant runout by Joseph. Anil also took a very nice catch at long on. WCC knocked over the Vikings for 119 in around 26-27 overs. Overall very good bowling and backed up by very good fielding. The ground was pretty fast and the Captain had very good field settings too after studying the 1st innings.

All in all, total team performance and a 135 run victory reflected that. Lets continue the momentum going forward.
