Hunters v Washington Cricket Club WCC-WMCB on Sat 02 May 2015 at 12:00 PM
Washington Cricket Club Won by 73 runs

Match report WCC meets the Hunters at Lake Fairfax on a gorgeous day. Ankit pulled a hat-trick winning the toss again and electing to bat first.Sameer and Viral opened the innings for WCC. The new ball bowlers for Hunters bowled a
terrific opening spell and made it hard for Sam and Viral to score. In a bizarre case of role reversal, Viral looked to be the one trying to stay at the wicket and Sam was the aggressor.Sam(7) was the first to go when he tried to whack a bouncy ball out of the park. The in-form TC joined Viral(20) who played a very patient innings but got out to a freak catch.WCC was in a spot of bother as it's openers were back in the hut with not much on the board. Thoufiq went in next and found his groove very quickly. He hit one out the park and WCC looked to be on the move.TC(15) then fell and Kal joined Thoufiq. That would be the last time that Hunters would cheer for the day as both Thoufiq and Kal toyed with their bowling, especially the spinners. They showed no mercy to the balls that were pitched up as they were promptly dispatched to the fence.Thoufiq looked like Navjot Sidhu, dancing down the track and hitting the spinners for sixes. Both Thoufiq(49) and Kal(49) remained not out one shy of well deserved half-centuries. WCC made a
mammoth 154 in 20 which is a huge ask on a thick and slow Lake Fairfax outfield.

Jagga and Jeeresh started the session for WCC and as usual Jagga bowled a perfect line and length. Jeeresh, who is playing after a long break opened the account by taking 2 wickets in one over. Jagga kept the pressure on the other end and picking up a wicket in the process.Spin was soon introduced and both Viral and Ankit were too good for them.Viral managed to get a wicket and Ankit ran through their middle order picking 4 wickets. Pratik was terrific with the gloves affecting 4 stumpings. All in all it was a clinical performance by WCC and packed the Hunters for 81.
