Match report I will try doing the report on Sharath's absence and his nonsense ;) It was going to be a long day yet an eventful one !!

Game 1 : Against Mavericks

Mavericks won the toss and elected to field. Phew !! Not a bad deal for us but they have been one of the finest T20 teams forever but a better overall cricketing team aswell this year. We started our episode with our Mr. Dependables with the bat Tarun and Sameer. They started off well but we got our first blow and Sameer(4) fell to Sardar. Then came in Mr. BIG Anil Bhai (85 N.O.) who started off in style. He ran hard and fast giving the young fielding side the biggest surprise of their lives. TC (Tarun Chopra) and AB (Anil Bhai) were running well. But soon TC danced down the wicket and fell for a very uncharacteristic shot and got caught by the keeper. But came Shounak(35) who ran harder than AB but finished ten bottles of water while he was out there with AB ;) It was a terrific partnership and not even half a chance was awarded to the opponents while these two took us to a big score. Shounak fell after doing his part and then Mr. Popular Viral came in and what do you expect he hit a few lusty blows and did his job. Fawad came in next and had a few balls to go but made the most out of it. Ran hard with AB and got us to a mammoth score of 185.

Mavericks were not in panic mode. They started off in Delhi Daredevils style but our Mr. Dependable Bowler Jagan picked Fezan (0) one of their finest bat in the very first over. But they had their other best Sardar Ahmed on the other side who scored 52 in no time. Ankit who has been one of our finest bowlers for 40 or 20 put the brakes at the other end in his first 2 overs. Then came Kalyan(1) but Jagan took care off him too. And then TC took care of their lynchpin Ram (6). But then a couple of their lower order finest put up a good show but Jereesh (Machaa) took care of Nohmi (30) and Sibtain stayed N.O. (39). Machaa bowled like a "bowling machine" and with a lot of pace and accuracy like he has done all season long. Sardar was hitting like CRAZY so we let loose our Craziest bowler aka Viral Patel who picked couple of wickets in no time including Sardar. Kudos to Rajiv's friendly sledging and terrific work behind the stumps that made things fall in place. And finally came our most deceiving bowler Sam who sealed our final berth with 3 wickets and some very intelligent bowling.

They were somewhat hitting sixes at will but all our bowlers and fielders who kept their calm and kept on chipping and chiming. Finally what happened was we made it to the WMCB T20 Finals in style for the very first time in WCC History !!
